Landostand (Stowe, Silverstone)

This project is a fully realised 3D grandstand concept inspired by Lando Norris’ 2025 “LandoStand,” reimagined as a 2026 edition celebrating his World Championship victory. Designed as a portfolio piece, this project aims to combine motorsport branding, large-scale event architecture, and detailed environmental modeling to create a believable, broadcast-ready structure.

About The Model

The model was built entirely in Blender, with a focus on clean topology, modular construction, and realistic structural proportions. The tiered seating system was designed to reflect real-world grandstand engineering, including accurate row spacing, stair access points, support columns, and banner placements. The understructure was carefully modeled to enhance realism and ensure the stand would hold up from both spectator and trackside camera perspectives.

Rear Mesh Netting Render

For the grandstand model, I used Blender’s IOR-driven shader properties to create the appearance of the protective netting wrapped around the steel support beams. By carefully adjusting the material’s index of refraction and transparency, I was able to achieve a lightweight, semi-transparent mesh effect that preserved visibility of the underlying metal structure while conveying the subtle light interaction characteristic of real netting. This approach provided a convincing result without the need for excessively computer demanding dense geometry, helping to maintain both visual fidelity and scene efficiency.
